appdetailSIG Energy Management – a division of SIG plc and one of the UK’s leading providers of domestic energy management solutions – has launched a new interactive ‘Eco Map’ app designed to help the residential sector navigate the changing landscape of energy policy and building regulations.

The free app cuts through the complexities associated with green policies such as the Green Deal and Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). It provides everyone from tenants and landlords to builders, developers and local authorities, with regular updates as changes to regulations occur.

It also features an ‘Energy Wizard’ to help users identify the solutions most relevant to them, and establish what support is offered by Government in terms of financial incentives; ultimately enabling them to make the right decision according to their requirements.

Neil Donald, Managing Director, SIG Energy Management said: “Energy policy is in a state of constant flux, with rules and regulations changing on an almost monthly basis – the recent changes to ECO announced in the Autumn Statement being a prime example. It’s therefore no wonder that confusion is rife, not just among the public but the industry as well.

“To make important decisions about properties, everyone – from large social housing providers to private homeowners – needs to keep on top of these changes. We’ve therefore launched this ‘Eco Map’ app to help people get to grips with legislation, understand how it affects them and ultimately make the right decision when it comes to investing in energy solutions.”

The app is free to download via the Apple’s iTunes app store. It is currently only available for iPhone and iPad, although it will be made available to Android users in the near future.
