Noel Robinson, Technical and Training Manager for Sektor, the brand of interior solutions from leading distributor CCF, discusses the strategy behind launching a new name which meets a number of very specific customer concerns. 

Contractors, architects, and facility managers are faced with the daily trial of not only creating a workable space, which meets legislative and budgetary requirements, but one which is aesthetically pleasing to the building occupants. It was clear to CCF that a range of fresh interior solutions was needed to simplify this situation, making it easier to meet tight installation schedules and please eager clients.

Despite launching in September 2013, a team of CCF’s industry experts have been working on developing Sektor for nearly two years. The time was spent making sure the range of professional interior solutions, including glazed and flexible partitioning, cubicles, storage walls, shelving, and doors were designed to specifically meet contractor demand for value, availability, reliability and service.

The first stage in Sektor’s growth was analysing customer needs and defining how the range could bring something different to market. By taking the approach of identifying requirements before the design stage, the team quickly recognised three key fundamentals: the solutions must be high-quality and simple to install, have flexibility with existing components and are readily available for over the counter purchase or rapid delivery.

Combining this with the knowledge of industry figureheads has provided a technical vision to ensure product design was approached from the installer’s point of view. This put ease of installation at the top of the agenda, resulting in some of the most extensive and flexible ranges on the market.

The Sektor sales network has been designed to work closely with refurbishment and fit-out contractors to provide a tailored approach in a market where service is king. Supported by 19 Sektor ‘gurus’, who will be based at 19 CCF branches  across the UK, the sales team are in the ideal position to deliver a trusted and reliable service.

Added support to meet the most demanding specifications covering fire, acoustic and structural performances is also an important element of modern customer requirements. A lot of investment was therefore made in the Sektor website, which is complete with installation guides and technical drawings. This is supported by the option for training.

Held at the Sektor showroom at CCF Heathrow, the training courses will take attendees through the practical application of Sektor products and provide a ‘hands on’ experience prior to purchase. Led by Sektor experts, customers will discover the fine details behind the design of each range, including fire and acoustic ratings.
